The Cyprus Certification Company (KEP) was founded in 2002 and operates as a Private Law Company, with limited liability, with the sole shareholder being the Republic of Cyprus, managed by a 7-member Board of Directors, consisting of representatives of the Ministries of Finance and Energy, Trade, Industry and Tourism as well as personalities coming from private sector bodies such as the Cyprus Consumers’ Association, the Federation of Employers and Industrialists (OEB), the Cyprus Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KEBE), the Scientific and Technical Chamber of Cyprus (ETEK) as well as from the Academic Community.

KEP is today the most dynamic accredited certification body in Cyprus and promotes certification as a means rather than an end in itself to lead businesses to an upgraded competitiveness for the benefit of themselves, their customers, their staff, their partners and society as a whole. KEP is accredited by the National Accreditation System of Greece (ESYD).

KEP has also been approved by the Republic of Cyprus as a Notified Body (No. 2010) for the certification of cement and for the control of the production of aggregates based on the European Construction Products Regulation (CPR). Also, KEP has been approved by the Competent Authority of the Republic of Cyprus (Labor Inspection Department of the Ministry of Labour, Welfare and Social Insurance) as an Authorized Elevator Inspector and by the Human Resources Development Authority (HAD) as a certified Vocational Training Center.

KEP is also a member of the International Network of Certification Bodies IQNET (International Quality Network), thus sealing the international recognition of its certificates.

KEP is going through a period of rapid development in the context of its activity, under the new conditions of private philosophy and competition. Based on its highly trained and experienced inspectors, the international partnerships it has entered into, KEP offers reliable services that are highly regarded both in Cyprus and abroad. A perennial goal of KEP is the expansion of its activities abroad and within this context it has already expanded its activities in the Greek area
